Testimonies
“Expectation in faith creates facts”
Testimony of OCG’er Andreas F. (D, 63 y.)
In 43 years of work, in which I was sick less than one month in total, I had received my first sick leave in November 2018. In the second one, I was “down to the bone” and also already had burnout symptoms. What I had suppressed for a long time, caught up with me and on the advice of my loved ones, I had myself medically “checked out”. “Thank God” there were no serious problems. However, working in temporary employment, which placed me in 16 different hospitals within a short period of time, increasingly brought me to my breaking point. Shift and weekend duties, once spinal surgery, another time in the cardiac catheterization ward, plus long journeys, were wearing me down.
Everything became too much for me. And the newsletter testimonies I read made me happy for the people concerned, but I felt as if I was handicapped. Mentally I did not know what to do. Like a fireman, I always only went to where the fire was burning. I did receive some takeover offers, but I would not have improved there. Often I was complaiing, “I can’t and don’t want to anymore!” The whole health care system is sick, lobbyists and politicians at the same table are oriented to profit, but not primarily to patient welfare.
Having hit rock bottom, I started proclaiming together with my family, “The best years are still ahead of us!” A short time later, I was sent for the first time by my company to work at a special day clinic for people suffering from cancer and autoimmune diseases. Many of the staff were my age and felt emotional relationships with their patients. People laughed and cried together. On weekends and holidays, the clinic was closed and the working hours for me were from 8:00 to 16:00. Everyone signaled to me, whether patients or staff, that they were very happy to have my support. After all, more than a thousand patients a month who travel from everywhere for their therapy urgently need help. So they asked me if I would like to stay here forever. It seemed to me that the right job had found me! I discussed this with my family, with the brothers and sisters in the OCG ministry, with the old and new employer and now I am permanently employed there since January 1. The Lord made everything wonderful, suitable, perfect: the working atmosphere, the working hours and the salary. Our prayer proclamation has been fulfilled and the future has begun.
Even if your situation seems hopeless, don’t give up! Because also for you a new morning waits!
Your Andreas
