Nothing is a coincidence, not even falling off the trampoline!

by Jani & Geli (35 & 29 y.)

Our middle son had a small trampoline accident a few months ago. Since it left him with a torticollis, we went to the doctor, but he couldn’t find a fracture on the x-ray. We were then discharged, but the doctor called us again that evening and said he kind of had a “funny feeling about it” and asked us to get an MRI* just to be on the safe side.

Through this MRI, a tumor was discovered in our Emilian (five years old) between the first and second cervical vertebrae, which was also already so large that the cervical vertebrae had become somewhat thinner due to the pressure there. The recommendation of a specialist was then that the tumor should be surgically removed, but this was also associated with certain risks (in this area run many nerves, tendons and the main artery). Wow, how horrible! At first we felt really confused, very insecure and also totally overwhelmed in every way. Because exactly in this time we were also in the final phase of our house construction, our daughter Tamina came into the world, our oldest son started first grade etc., etc.. How should we do all this now with our four children and above all, which decision is the right one for Emilian? We prayed about it, wanting to feel God and understand what He wants to say to us: “Nothing in this world is an accident, Lord, You have guided and directed everything this way. It is a huge miracle anyway that this was discovered, what do you want from us NOW?” Our human feeling resisted the recommended surgery at first, but when we really let go completely, we felt an incredible deep peace to have the surgery done. We felt so carried and strengthened and many dear people supported us in prayer.

The surgery went very well and faster than predicted. The tumor (benign), could be removed well and our son also recovered quickly. Our little Tamina was a real “soul comforter” in the hospital for him and I (Geli) could spend my “postpartum” in the hospital bed (near him) Great! 🙂Emilian is now completely healthy again!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Lord Jesus, from the bottom of our hearts! We have experienced again how God does not leave us alone even in difficult situations, but works everything for the best. Health and all things are never a matter of course, that we appreciate today again much more and deeper worth.
